University of Konstanz

Since its foundation in 1966, the University of Konstanz has distinguished itself through its top-level research, excellence in teaching and studies, internationality and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Getting to the University

The University is located approximately 4 km northeast of the city center. General travel instructions can be found here  .

Conference Office and main lecture hall

The Conference Office and the lecture hall A600 for all plenary talks is located in building A on level 6 close to the main entrance.

Free public transport and more

The tourist tax included in your accommodation in Konstanz (and 13 other participating locations) entitles you to the BODENSEECARD WEST. It serves as a free ticket for public transport within the District of Constance (including Stein am Rhein and Überlingen) and offers a 20% discount on Untersee ferries, reduced museum admission, and special rates on bike and boat rentals. Please carry a photo ID (e.g., passport) when using the card.

Conference Bus

If you are staying in one of the hotels in or near Line-Eid-Straße, you can take the conference shuttle bus, which will display 'Sonderfahrt'. It departs from the Stromeyersdorf bus stop at 08:00 on Monday and at 08:20 from Tuesday to Thursday.

Bus connection

The University can be reached from the city center (e.g., Main Station) via bus lines 9A and 9B in about 15 to 20 minutes, running every 15 minutes. For detailed timetable information, please use the trip planner.
Alternatively, you can take line 4/13, which also departs from Main Station. This route takes 18 minutes plus a 4-minute walk, and buses run every 30 minutes. Please note that line 11 (from Wollmatingen train station) operates only during peak hours in the morning and afternoon due to semester/school holidays.
